Varkaus & Pärnu

Heidi Sormunen (from kennel Heckler's) was kind enough to take our dogs with her to some shows.

On May 28th she took Aida (Exclamation Rose Kiss) with her to Varkaus all-breed show, where Igor Vyguzov from Russia was judging Cocker Spaniels. Aida was placed Best of Breed, with a great critique, and won her very first CAC!

On June 18th and 19th Heidi took Lumi (Candida's October Opal) with her to two international shows in Pärnu, Estonia. Jussi Liimatainen from Finland was judging Akitas on Saturday, and Tanya Ahlman-Stockmari, also from Finland, on Sunday. On both days Lumi was placed Best of Breed and got CACIBs. On Saturday she also got the Estonian Champion title, and therefore became a Baltic Champion too!

Latvia shows

Last weekend we traveled to Riga, Latvia for two international shows with Lumi (Candida's October Opal) and Moriz (Candida's Moody Blues) and came home with great results!

On Saturday Moriz was shown under judge Linda Volarikova from Slovakia, was placed 2nd best male, got a CAC, became Latvian Champion, and got a reserve CACIB, which will be confirmed to a CACIB later.

Judging Akitas on Saturday was Kornelija Butrimova from Lithuania. Lumi was placed 2nd best female, also received a CAC and thus became Latvian Champion, and got a reserve CACIB.

On Sunday Moriz wasn't shown at all, but Lumi was shown under judge Janiki Steinbock from Israel. Our judge seemed to really like Lumi, as she was placed Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex being Etsuo Go From Hachimantai, and received a CACIB.

Unfortunately we didn't manage to get a picture with both dogs standing still
Thanks to Elina Kempas for the pictures!

Lithuania shows

Last weekend we made a road trip to Vilnius, Lithuania for the Lithuanian Winner and Vilnius Cup shows with Lumi (Candida's October Opal), Moriz (Candida's Moody Blues) and Aida (Exclamation Rose Kiss).

On Saturday Moriz was placed 2nd best male and earned a reserve-CACIB under judge Leila Kärkäs from Finland. He lost the CACIB to Russian Moonlight Show Magic Moment, who (fortunately for us) is already an International Champion, so Moriz actually got his very first CACIB. Aida was placed 4th best female.

Lumi was shown under judge Matti Tuominen, also from Finland, and was chosen best female, BOS, earned a CACIB and the Lithuanian Winner title, and therefore also became a Lithuanian Champion!

On Sunday judging Akitas was Denis Kuzelj from Bulgaria. Lumi lost best female to Lithuanian Okimi Megami Go Sveika, but since she was shown in junior class, Lumi once again got a CACIB and the title of Vilnius Cup Winner. Aida was once again placed 4th best female under Ychai Barak from Israel, Moriz won his class but wasn't placed in the best male competition.

Candida's Non-Stop Song

aka "Tuuli" is now 14 weeks old, and she is still looking for a home.

Tuuli etsii sijoituskotia Suomesta, mieluiten Etelä-Suomesta.

edit 23.3.2011: Tuuli has found a great home from Kokkola, Finland!

Turku INT

Lumi (Candida's October Opal) was shown in Turku international show January 22nd under judge Peter Harsanyi from Hungary. She was placed best female, and got her 2nd CACIB from Finland. Now she is only missing one time-CACIB from her C.I.B.-title! We finally lost best of breed to Russian Kenshin-Ko-Go Royal Nippon Akitos, because, as the judge put it, Lumi likes to eat and was not in the greatest show condition at the time.

BOB Kenshin-Ko-Go Royal Nippon Akitos and BOS Candida's October Opal
Here's what Mr. Harsanyi had to say about Lumi:
Typical bitch with good size and bones. A little bit heavy. Nice feminine head. Good expression. Correct topline. Good forequarters and angulations. Correct presentation and character.

Meri (Afterglow Hail Mary) was shown the next day under judge Dorothea Hanlon-Carrol from Ireland. She was placed 3rd in the intermediate class.

She was also shown in Parkano group show February 6th, where she was placed best female 4th under judge Tarja Hovila from Finland.
